It's Your Right To Dispute
It is within your legal right to dispute any derogatory item on your credit report that you feel may be incomplete, inaccurate, unverifiable, untimely or misleading. This includes disputing personal information, late payments, collections, chargeoffs, judgments, garnishments, bankruptcies, foreclosures, tax liens, medical bills and expired accounts.
FreeCreditDispute.com helps American consumers by providing innovative, no cost, credit repair tools. It's free, it's legal, and it's easy! What are you waiting for? Check out client results.
Review Credit Accounts
Use a yellow and a red highlighter and find a quiet place. Scan the report carefully and familarize yourself with the account specifics. Is the account open or closed? Check your balances, credit limits and payment histories.
Use the red highlighter when you find:
- Accounts that do not belong to you.
- Delinquencies that aren't yours (inclusing late payments and charge-offs)
- Late payments, charge-offs, or other negative enteries- other than bankruptcy- that are more than seven years old.
- Debts that your spouse incurred before marriage.

Online Disputes Limit Leverage
You should NEVER dispute your credit reports using the bureaus (Equifax, Experian & TransUnion) websites. Afterall, they are the problem not the solution. Did you know that credit bureaus outsource consumer disputes they receive online to an automated 3rd party verification system called eOscar.
FreeCreditDispute.com manuevers this hurdle by giving clients the ability to print their disputes, ready to be sent with certified US Mail. Mailing your disputes is key to successfully removing negative credit. Once the bureau receives your dispute letter, they will begin investigating your claim. Within 30 days an updated credit report will be mailed back to your home address.
FICO Closes Credit Loophole
The practice of "piggybacking" was, for years, an effective way to help a person with damaged or limited credit boost their scores. The practice involved adding a person with damaged credit as an "authorized user" to your credit card, and importing a clean history into the other person's credit files at the three national bureaus.
The newly enhanced FICO scoring system will stop awarding credit points to authorized users on someone else's credit card. This change will affect about 30 percent of people with credit reports, or about 60 million consumers.
This change affects young adults trying to establish credit by attaching themselves to their parents' credit and spouses -- most of them women -- who are authorized users on the family credit card.
